SO+SO POETRY SERIES

I'm working on "Broadsides" (graphic art pieces of poetry) for the So+So Poetry Series here in Raleigh. I'll be selling them here shortly, but for now here's an update on the process:

The above piece consists of the poem "Tiny Tacos" by Amy King.

All of the pieces are done via acetone transfer making each "broadside" a unique piece of art. No two pieces are the same and they are all done by hand. Come to the Morning Times this coming Saturday for a reading from all 3 poets + a chance to get one of these limited prints.

DRUM LESSONS

If you read the "About Me" PDF you'll know that I teach drum lessons. Though this is a new endeavor for me, I am very excited to be teaching something I am so passionate about. If you would like a lesson or two or three then contact me via email or by phone (cell is on the promo flyer below).

Lessons are 20.00 per half hour session, and I can come to you.

ABOUT ME - v.2010

I haven't updated this section of the site in awhile, but the "About Me" link in the nav bar above has been updated with a new PDF.

In 2009, the turning economy forced me into several different avenues. Though architecture has been my training, music and graphic design have long been passions of mine. I have played drums for 15 years and professionally for the last 3 years in several Raleigh bands (their links can be found to the right on the sidebar). Graphic design has come naturally through architecture. The art of presentation is completely integrated into the profession, and I have tried to use those strengths and passions to create some of my own graphic ideas for others.

Architecture was hit severely in 2009, but I've tried my best to continue creating and pursuing the things I love. I am currently teaching drum lessons in the Raleigh area as well.

More about that later.

JACK THE RADIO

I'm recording drums with Raleigh band Jack the Radio. If you get a chance swing by the website and check out the tunes.

DRUMS

Current music happenings:

1. Writing, recording and playing with Silver in Raleigh, NC. We hope to have a short EP this spring in hopes to push to major contacts in the industry. Songs are in pre-production at the moment and progressing nicely. Silver will be hitting Low Watt Studios with well known local producer Ted Comerford this January of 2010.

2. Writing and playing with Jack the Radio, Raleigh, NC. JTR is in a writing and editing process. With tons of ideas roaming around, the goal is to narrow those ideas down into a cohesive album that could possibly be released in 2010.

3. Playing with cover band The Mirrors, Raleigh, NC. The Mirrors have hit several hot spots over the NC, SC and GA lines and these "cover gigs" have kept me very busy. If ever in need of a band for your event, be sure to shoot us a line (or just email me at the contact email above).
